New to KitchenCash or just want to understand how it all works? We've answered everything below — from how to enter your first tournament to how fast you get paid.
Before you register
You need a DUPR rating to enter most tournaments since brackets are skill-matched. You can create a free DUPR profile at dupr.com — it takes about 5 matches to get a verified rating. You can create a KitchenCash account before you have one and add it later from your dashboard.
Yes. Creating a KitchenCash account is completely free. You only pay when you enter a specific tournament (the entry fee is listed on each event). KitchenCash Pro is also optional — it's a paid add-on that unlocks perks but is never required to compete.
We run events across three tiers: Beginner (DUPR 2.0–3.0), Intermediate (DUPR 3.0–4.0), and Advanced (DUPR 4.0+). Each tournament page lists the exact rating range required. If your DUPR falls outside a bracket's range, you won't be able to register for that specific event.
Events & registration
Browse open events on the Tournaments page. Click any event, review the details and prize breakdown, then click "Enter tournament." You'll pay the entry fee via Stripe at checkout. Your registration is confirmed instantly.
Once a tournament hits its player cap, registration closes. A waitlist may open depending on the event. Pro members automatically receive priority placement on any waitlist — another reason going Pro pays off when popular events fill fast.
Cancellations submitted more than 72 hours before the tournament date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations within 72 hours forfeit the entry fee. Some events may have different policies — always check the specific tournament page for details before registering.
Brackets are finalized after registration closes, typically 24–48 hours before the event. You'll receive an email with your schedule, court assignments, and first-round opponent once brackets are set.
Prize money & payouts
Prize money is paid directly to winners after the event via Stripe — to the bank account or debit card linked to your profile. Payouts typically process within 1–3 business days after the tournament concludes. You can track your earnings in your dashboard.
Each tournament lists its full prize breakdown before registration opens — including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place amounts. There are no hidden deductions. The prize amounts shown are exactly what winners receive.
Tournament winnings may be subject to income tax depending on your jurisdiction. KitchenCash issues 1099 forms for applicable annual earnings. We recommend consulting a tax professional for guidance specific to your situation.
KitchenCash Pro
No. KitchenCash Pro is completely optional. Any registered player can enter and compete in open tournaments. Pro ($15/month) is an add-on that unlocks perks like $5 off every entry fee, early event access, and Pro-only tournaments.
You can cancel anytime from your account dashboard. Your Pro benefits remain active until the end of the current billing period — you won't be charged again after cancellation. There are no cancellation fees.
Pro members receive 2 guest passes per year. Each pass lets you bring one free player to a tournament — waiving their entry fee entirely. Guest passes are issued when you go Pro and reset annually. They can't be carried over or sold.
